CESAH
CESAH is a school integrated within Rouen’s hospital. Its students, aged from 3 to 18 years old, are also patients in the hospital. This school has been created to allow young patients to stay integrated within the school system and keep a sense of normalcy in their daily lives. Some of them will stay for a short period of time, some others for the rest of their lives. Odeline had the chance to lead the rebranding of the CESAH, integrating the wide diversity of students the school represents.
The co-creation process
Integrating the voice of the students through a series of co-creation workshops
The series of workshops offered a wide diversity of activities to allow each student to find their comfort zone. For instance, the first workshop was meant to teach the students about design and brand identity. Some of the following activities included creating a puppet of their respective illnesses and then time playing with the puppet to showcase the positive impact the school has had on their daily lives as patients. To conclude the project, an exhibit of all the work accomplished with the students was organized, given the students, and their caregivers, a chance to reflect back on the experience. “I really didn’t anticipate that this work would accelerate the recovery process of [patient being treated for anorexia]” mentioned one of the caregiver therapist during her tour of the exhibit.
The brand identity
Expanding into a full brand identity
A full brand identity was created based on the work accomplished to create the logo. Most of the brand material (subscription business card, pamphlet, flyers and posters) was created to support the non-profit organization financing the CESAH (l’association du CESAH).
